07. Portraiture - Photoshop plugin
Although the previous method yielded me good results, it was rather long, complicated and time-consuming. Therefore I looked for a easier way to get the same results.
I found a solution in Portraiture of Imagenomic. I haven't looked into detail yet, but it gives me the same results as my previous method only in a much quicker way. The fact that it is available plugin for photoshop makes it even easier.
The example underneath was the result of 20 seconds 'playing' with portraiture. Also in this example I overdid it a little in the plugin and lowered the opacity afterwards. I also masked the portraiture-layer to get a little better result.
At the moment I haven't fully explored portraiture yet. But the results are very promising like you can see at the example above.
For now I mainly experiment with the three sliders highlighted in the image beneath. They seems to work like 3 different gaussian blur layers. But because you can see the result directly in the windows it's really easy to get good result. Much easier then experimenting with different layers in photoshop.
I also switch off the box which makes sure the smoothing is only applied to the skin tones. In that way the shadows are smoothed too which I find better.
For those who want to give this piece of software a try, there is a fully functional demo version available at site of Imagenomic. Click here to go to the download page
